Audi FIS Ski World Cup Ladies – Arlberg Kandahar Rennen cancelled
Unfortunately, due to the enormous amounts of fresh snow and the forecasted heavy snowfall for the upcoming weekend, the planned Downhill and Super-G of the women’s international ski elite in St. Anton am Arlberg had to be cancelled. In addition, safety reasons for the cancellation were crucial. Due to the high risk of avalanche in the area, the safety of the snow groomers could no longer be guaranteed. This decision was made in close coordination between the responsible persons of the Austrian Ski Association, the FIS and the Organizing Committee in St. Anton am Arlberg. The commitment and effort of the crew was enormous, and until today, 120,000 cubic meters of snow have been removed from the racetrack. In addition to the race cancellation, the side events too had to be cancelled. The Sports Summit on 10 January 2019 will take place as planned. The next World Cup event in St. Anton is scheduled for 2021.
